Deputy Scientific Director, St Mary’s Hospital Hospital Lacor Gulu
Dr. David Nyeko, trained as a General Surgeon and a graduate of Makerere University College of Health Sciences, currently pursuing his fellowship from the College of Surgeons of East Central and Southern Africa (COSECSA). He is currently employed at St Mary’s Hospital Hospital Lacor Gulu. Where he is the Deputy Scientific Director and a Member of the research and ethics committee. He is also an honorary lecturer in the department of surgery Gulu University. His interest’s spans to involve research, teaching and surgical oncology.
Dr. Nyeko, is also a member of the Association of Surgeons of Uganda, representing Northern Uganda.
As a surgeon he undertakes a lot of surgical oncological procedures, especially in Lacor which is a high volume facility with a strong history of cancer services in Uganda. He has collaborated with colleagues and published in British journal of surgery.
He has attended training organized by African esophageal cancer consortium, to bring esophageal stent services to cancer patients.
